Please come to the State House this Wednesday morning to join me for an important campaign announcement. As many of you know, our volunteers have spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours collecting signatures across the commonwealth this summer in order to qualify the Green-Rainbow Party's statewide candidates for the November ballot. On Wednesday morning, we will be announcing the results of our efforts. It would be great to have you there.
Meet Rick Purcell
Getting to know the Holyoke man running for Lieutenant Governor
Most other candidates in the Governor's race may be from the eastern part of the state, but the Stein campaign has the honor of featuring Rick Purcell, the only person involved in the race from western Massachusetts. He's a long-term resident of Holyoke, a distinguished community activist, a compassionate health care worker, and decorated US Army veteran who served 10 years of active duty. And now he's running as Jill Stein's running mate for the position of Lieutenant Governor.
Green-Rainbow Berkshire Regional Convention to Highlight Candidates & Solutions to Homelessness, Peak Oil

Outgoing GRP co-chair Jill Stein kicked off her campaign for governor of Massachusetts on February 8th, on the steps of the State House.
Taking charge of our food
Mass Local Food is an example of citizen action for relocalization. The online food co-op was started by Sheryl Vaillette (a member of the Nashua River Green Rainbow local) and two other Central MA women, Kelley O'Connor and Kerrie Hertel. Its mission is to provide an ordering and distribution system that helps Massachusetts farmers, producers, and artisans reach local consumers, bypassing the big national food distribution systems. Local food producers are allowed to post information about their products online after paying a one-time $50 membership fee.

Jill Stein, Green-Rainbow Party co-chair, will enter 2010 gubernatorial race
Green-Rainbow Party co-chair Jill Stein, who ran for Governor in 2002 and Secretary of the Commonwealth in 2006, has announced that she intends to enter the 2010 gubernatorial race. The State House News Service broke the story and the Boston Herald picked it up. In a note to supporters, Stein wrote, "Business as usual is still taking a heavy toll on our jobs, health, communities and environment, pushing us towards the brink.
